Francisco Sá Carneiro Airport once again honoured by passengers
Airport Council International (ACI) has once again honoured Francisco Sá Carneiro Airport among the best airports in the world in its category for the quality of service provided.
Porto airport, which in 2023 will exceed 15 million passengers, “has managed to maintain its level of service quality and has once again been awarded the prize for best European airport in its category”, the organisation said in a statement.
This is the 17th award that Francisco Sá Carneiro Airport has received from ACI in this category since 2006. In addition to the northern airport infrastructure, Airport Council International also honoured Belgrade Airport in Serbia and Guanacaste Airport in Costa Rica.

In 2023, Porto airport introduced the “Biometric Experience by VINCI Airports”, an innovative project being trialled for selected flights and passengers departing from the airport, welcomed new routes operated by new airlines and has plans for further work on the platform.
The ACI rankings are a global benchmark for the quality of airport services and are of particular importance to those involved in the sector, as they are based on passenger surveys.
